Cats Excel for Eurocell
10 new Cat® GP30N LPG powered counterbalance trucks have added greater reliability to the efficient safe and flexible operation at Eurocell. The UK's leading manufacturer of PVC-U building products, such as windows, doors, conservatory roofs, fascias, soffits and guttering, operate across multiple sites at the Alfreton head office so need equipment that can meet their needs in the manufacturing storage and distribution operations.
The three tonne carrying capacity of the Cat® GP30N gives the flexibility to operate in all areas while the standard PIN code operation prevents unauthorised use and automatically sets the steering column to the individual operators preferred position. The Vehicle Control Module (VCM) monitors all functions for optimum performance and notification of service requirements. This way preventative maintenance and rapid troubleshooting minimise downtime, boosting efficiency.
The decision to replace the existing fleet with Cat® machinery, on full-service contract hire was part of a pan-European tender instigated by Eurocell's parent company Tessenderolo.
“The trucks are all standard production vehicles. and they have already proved their worth,” said Jeff Newton, Eurocell Logistics Manager. When Impact became the sole UK dealer for Cat Lift Trucks Europe in 2010, it was good news for a relationship that has been built on service and strong support.
“When the contract went out to tender the existing relationship with Impact helped significantly in the decision-making process,” said Newton. “We knew what we would be getting from Impact in the way of support and expertise. Everyone at Impact works hard to ensure we get the right kit for the job, as well as providing good aftercare service. Importantly, Impact’s people are always available when we need them.”
